Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and light to everything.

Our Philosophy/Hashkafa

We know from our years in education and music instruction that Music is a very powerful therapy in of itself. We strongly hold that if you give young teens the gift of music, it can give them a very strong grounding in a constructive and b’simcha discipline, for their whole lifetime. By taking on music as their hobby and after school activity, it has been shown to keep youth off the streets and involved in a constructive and positive experience benefiting both them and the whole community.

Years ago, Starbucks Coffee’s founder, Howard Schulz said that people need a 3rd Place to go to…they are 1. home or 2. at work/office and 3. it used to be the pub or bar, but now with their marketing success, they made the 3rd place their coffee houses where people go to relax and unwind.

Well, children and teens need that 3rd place too, BUT sadly, after the home and school/Yeshiva, it’s often the Street that is their 3rd place to run to! We want to replace the street with a place that is fun, inspiring and full of music and art, that the teens can feel good about going to each week or every day- and that place is Zach’s Playce Sounds good right?! Well, we also hope to BeH replicate this model in other cities throughout Israel!

Zach’s Legacy

Zach tragically left this world at a young age, just 29 and this left a huge hole in the hearts of so many of his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Zach had 2 great loves besides his family, wife and son and Hashem and Torah: They were:

1. Helping teens to overcome their life issues and inspire them to live with simcha and a strong connection to Hashem.

2. Music and lots of it! Playing guitar, singing and writing his own music/songs. He loved a great kumsitz, concerts and music festivals that he attended at any opportunity.

As a result of these 2 big loves of Zach, it seemed like a perfect match to start a program dedicated to giving children and teens affordable music lessons and a fun program to learn to play in a group setting and use their musical skills to inspire themselves, others and their community. In addition to the lessons, we want to beH set up a Moadon or monthly program that they can attend after lessons, where they can ‘jam’ with fellow students, have some pizza and meet top musicians and artists that will inspire and motivate them to new heights in music and art!

Please join us in this vital and exciting venture that will help keep Zach’s legacy of love for music and compassion for youth alive! With your help so many of the younger and older teens in Ramat Beit Shemesh, will be able to achieve their goals and potential through the magic of studying and performing music together. We have just launched the program and already have over 30 students waiting to be sponsored so they can start their lessons with Zach’s Playce- so please be a part of this amazing journey with us!
